Made in Italy from a diaphanous silk-blend matelassé, this showstopper of a dress has a bustier bodice, an open back, and—in true Cecilie Bahnsen form—a voluminous skirt that falls to an asymmetrical ruffled hem. We’re particularly into that off-the-shoulder sleeve, which brings a casual coolness to this otherwise formal piece.

Before launching her eponymous label in 2015, Cecilie Bahnsen cut her teeth working for Danish designer Anja Vang Krag, John Galliano, and Erdem. Today, she distills these experiences into her own designs, which feature voluminous silhouettes and romantic ruching. With femininity as her north star, Bahnsen develops bespoke fabrics for every collection, often rendering her whimsical pieces in matelassé or jacquard—the likes of which are meant to be worn in, out, and all around.
